Pet Pals of Atascocita

Emergency:

A local emergency contact is required in the event of an emergency with your home or pet—preferably with a key.  Veterinarian information is needed in case of pet medical emergency.  Otherwise, your pet will be taken to the Animal Emergency Clinic Northeast. Pet Pals will attempt to contact clients in case of emergency.  If client is unreachable, Pet Pals has permission to authorize any care that medical professionals recommend necessary for the pet’s health, safety, and survival.  The client agrees to reimburse Pet Pals of Atascocita for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence.  For the safety of your pet and others, pets must have current vaccinations.

Holiday Payments and Cancellations:

A one-time holiday surcharge of $10 will be added on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day

Shared Responsibility:

Some clients like to include neighbors, relatives, and friends in the pet sitting duties.  These well intention actions cause much confusion during the assignment.  Most common problems are overfeeding, unlocked doors, lost keys, or missing some feeding assignments altogether.  Pet Pals advises clients make only one person responsible for the entire assignment.

Visiting Hours/Business Hours

Unless arrangements are otherwise made, our normal visiting hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. daily.  Business hours are from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Animal Behavior:

Some pets may act differently while you are away. Some pets react with fear when their owners go away and they can become destructive, bored, or anxious.  We ask that clients go through their home, removing any obvious hazards before leaving.  Pet’s eating habits may change as well.  Pet Pals will do our very best to provide excellent care and maintenance for your pet and home, develop relationships -- become pals with them!

Preparing to Leave Home:

Please leave all pet supplies in one place, buy extra pet food in case of delays, clean out the refrigerator, remove all garbage, wash dishes to avoid ants, and let us know where the cleaning supplies are kept. Make sure you have paper towels on hand, too!  Please leave on a light for night visits so sitters do not have to enter a dark home.

Keys, Doors, and Locks:

Clients will provide two keys for service—one used for service, one locked securely and kept on file.  Your keys are coded and locked securely for safe keeping. If two copies are not provided, Pet Pals reserves to right to make a copy of the key.  For new customers, we will return your keys at no charge the first time you use our service.  In the future, there will be a $ 7.00 pickup fee and $7.00 return fee.

Other Services:

All the following are routine services included during a typical pet-sitting assignment:  checking the house, watering plants, bringing in mail, newspapers, etc.  Please let us know our limits in use and access to the household such as using the bathroom or walking through the house to see if the pet has soiled the carpets or if other problems have occurred.

Vacation Time:

I will be scheduling some time off of my own!  Not during peak season, but in between.  Clients will receive advance notification when this might occur.  There will be pet sitting service available, but requests will need to be scheduled at least one week in advance.  If someone from our team of pet sitters needs to be introduced to your pets, we would need time to make that happen!  Thank you for your consideration and understanding-- we all need a little time off every now and again!
